Edwin Joseph "Eddie" Moeder, 90, died July 2, 2025, at his home in Hutchinson. He was born on February 23, 1935, in Odin, KS, to Edward and Ida (Penka) Moeder.
Eddie was a 1953 graduate of Odin High School. He was in the Military Police and served in the United States Army. Eddie was a member of the VFW Post 1361 and the American Legion Lysle Rischel Post 68. He worked at Dillon's as the fleet maintenance manager for over 25 years. Eddie loved spending time outdoors; he went camping with his family, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He enjoyed woodworking and a cold beer after a long day's work. Eddie was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Knights of Columbus Council #612.
On July 18, 1959, in Hutchinson, he married Carol Jean Kornstett. They shared over 50 years in marriage, prior to her death on August 29, 2009.
Eddie is survived by: children, Dane Moeder, Denise (Darrell) Stewart, Troy (Stacey) Moeder, all of Hutchinson, Niki (Brian) Fiffe of Catonsville, MD; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Larry (Jan) Moeder of Great Bend and Mary Ann Fisher of Plainville.
He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Carol Moeder; brothers, Leonard Moeder, Ray Moeder, August Moeder, Leo Moeder, Rich Moeder; and sisters, Monica Schneider and Vi Prosser.
Parish Rosary will be 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Visitation will follow the rosary, from 7 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, at the church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, with military honors conducted by the Fort Riley Honor Guard. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday. The family requests those attending to wear casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Knights of Columbus Council #612 or Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
