It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ed Parker, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law and friend, who left us peacefully on March 29, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on January 28, 1944, in Wooster, Ohio, Ed was the much-loved son of Lee Parker and Ethel Mills Parker. He was preceded in death by his two brothers Richard and David Parker.
Ed was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Sara Lynn Newhouse Parker, whom he married on September 17, 1966. Together, they built a loving family and enjoyed a beautiful life until her passing on August 30, 2010. Ed's love for Sara remained with him throughout his life, and he is now reunited with her.
Ed is survived by his two children, Lisa Parker of Phoenix, Arizona, and Sacramento, California, and Michael Parker (Melissa) of Danville, California. His legacy continues through his two cherished grandchildren, Mikayla and Zachary Parker, who brought great joy to his life.
A proud graduate of Ohio State University, Ed was an avid Buckeye fan, often showcasing his unwavering support for his team. Throughout his life, he exemplified dedication and commitment, earning the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout and serving honorably in the Ohio National Guard. Ed had a passion for fishing, golf, poker and traveling and dedicated much of his life to his businesses in California and Arizona.
A natural entrepreneur, Ed currently owned two successful businesses: Pure Sushi, a sushi restaurant, and Plastic Products Inc., an aerospace manufacturing company in Scottsdale Arizona. His gift for business was matched only by his zest for life. Ed's love for his family, friends and employees was immense. He had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His warm smile, hearty laugh, compassionate heart, and endless stories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Ed will be laid to rest alongside his beloved Sara in Lafayette, California.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 10th, at 10:30 AM at the Pinnacle Presbyterian Church in North Scottsdale followed by a reception at Ed's restaurant, Pure Sushi, located at 20567 Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85255.
Burial services and reception at 11:00am at Oakmont Cemetery Lafayette, California.
All are welcome.
