Edwin Joesph Monroe, 67, of Cass Like, Minnesota began his journey on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from Fair Oaks Lodge Wadena, Minnesota. He was born the son of Isabelle (Monroe) and Marvin Turney on June 1, 1957, in Cass Lake, Mn.
Edwin was raised in Onigum, Mn. He went to school in Walker MN. After graduation Ed worked for the Casino as a cook and Security guard. Following that he worked as a laborer for the Leech Lake tribe.
Ed Loved to hunt, bead, and was a very talented artist. He also liked his cars and his clothes; he always liked to look good. He enjoyed nature drives, going to the casino, and cook outs. He will be remembered as a kind caring and loving man, he would give the shirt off his back to anyone that needed it.
Those greeting Edwin are his parents, Isabelle Monroe, and Marvin Turney; siblings, Adeline, Bernice, Harold, Calvin, Roger, Darlene, Clyde, Kenneth, and Linda.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Lee (Patti) Turney, Russell (Linda) Turney, Ronald (Joan) Turney; sisters, Phyllis (Earl) Yingling, Ruth Wright, Evelyn Monroe, and Elaine (Sam) Saccoman.
A celebration of life will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until his 1:00 p.m. service Wednesday, October 6 2024 all to be held at the Onigum Community Center, Onigum, MN. Father Bill Butcher will officiate. Urn bearer will be Bill Pell. Inurnment will be immediately following the service at St. John's Episcopal Cemetery, Onigum MN.
