DELPHOS -- Edwin L. Utrup, 86, died unexpectedly at 5:34 AM March 28, 2022, at Mercy Health-St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born February 28, 1936, in Putnam County to August and Caroline (Pohl) Utrup, who preceded him in death. On November 17, 1962, he married Ruth A. (Kaverman) Utrup, who preceded him in death. Ed was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Beckmann Furniture. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Survivors also include two sons, Mark (Angela) Utrup and Chris (Jill) Utrup, both of Delphos; three daughters, Louann (Kevin) McNamara, of Loveland, Julie Turnwald, of Ft. Jennings, and Kay (Andrew) Miller, of Delphos; 13 grandchildren, Brad (Audrey) Utrup, Lauren (Andrew) DiMario, Todd (Roxanne) Utrup, Stephanie (Ryan) Schmit, Stacey (Michael) Benton, Blake (Meagan) McNamara, Connor McNamara, Adam Turnwald, Nicholas Turnwald, Abbey (Tyler) Burgei, Isabelle Miller, Isaac Miller and Isaiah Miller; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Utrup and sisters-in-law, AnKara Utrup, Martha Kaverman, Alene Klausing and Janet Hiett.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Lauretta (Merle) Hollar, Wilma (Harold) Springer (Nile McDonald), Ruth (William) Martin; brothers, Roman Utrup and Art (Berdina) Utrup, sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty (Leonard) Beckmann, Alice (Norman) Knippen, Margaret (Paul) Pohlman, Dorothy (Robert) Heitz, Eugene (Esther) Kaverman., Louis Kaverman, Richard Klausing, and Thomas Hiett.
Ed was passionate about volunteering his time and talent to his friends and the community. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Delphos Stadium Club, Inc. or Delphos St. John's Catholic Church.
Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 East Fifth Street, Delphos, OH where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM Friday, April 1, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Delphos. Father Dennis Walsh will officiate. Burial will be at the Resurrection Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.weberfh.net.
