Edwin Lawrence White, Sr., 93, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital—Golden Triangle in Columbus. Born in the Una Community of Clay County on December 21, 1931, he was a son to Charlie Levi White, Sr. and Ruth Kyle White. Mr. White was a 1952 graduate of Aberdeen High School, and for more than 65 years, he owned and operated W. B. Hussey Grocery in Aberdeen alongside his brother, C.L. White, Jr. where he made countless friends who were loyal customers. He was a member of First Christian Church in Aberdeen where he served as an elder since 1959. In addition, he proudly had 67 years of perfect attendance for Sunday school. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years, and scrapbooking.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Aberdeen with Bro. David Snyder and Bro. Dale Carr officiating. Burial will follow in the Oddfellows Rest Cemetery.
He is survived by two sons, Eddie ‘Bubba’ White (Penny), Aberdeen and Ken White (Tyrea), Navarre Beach, FL; one brother, Kyle White (Lillian), Aberdeen; one sister, Betty June Crosswhite, Tupelo; 4 grandchildren, Bob White (Teresa), Tuscaloosa, Shannon Langreck (Matt), Pensacola, Courtney Duke (Ben), Murfreesboro, TN, and Maggie Chism (Jeffery), Aberdeen; 6 great grandchildren, John, Elle, Eli, Presley, Greyson, and Emory.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo White; his second wife, Amy White; one sister, Frances McEwen; and two brothers, Robert White and C.L. White, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Chism, Greyson Chism, Matt Langreck, Eli Langreck, Bob White, and John White. Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Aberdeen.
