Funeral Services
Edyth Mae Cahoon Hughes, our beloved sister, aunt and friend, passed away on February 6, 2025, at the age of 91. She will forever be remembered for her kindness, sense of humor and her can-do attitude. Edyth was born on February 10, 1933, in Deseret, Utah. She was the first daughter of Clayson K and Hazel May Walch Cahoon. She had four siblings: Paul, Alton, Owen and LuJean.
Edyth grew up in Delta, Utah, where she played sports in high school and worked at a pharmacy. She attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in education. After graduating from BYU, she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, where she taught 3rd grade at Tom Williams Elementary School for over 36 years.
Edyth was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served as a ward librarian for many years, served as secretary of the Relief Society, and worked in the stake extraction program. She had a very strong testimony of the Gospel and of Jesus Christ.
Edyth was an avid reader, loved bowling, was quick-witted and loved to help those in need. She loved to spend time with friends and family and will be greatly missed.
Edyth is preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers. She is survived by her sister, LuJean, and many nieces and nephews.
No formal services will be held. Interment at the Delta City Cemetery.
