Effie Dearing Frank passed away peacefully in Corsicana on February 15, 2026. She was born in
Groesbeck, Texas to parents Lee Dearing and Effie Rawls Dearing on December 15, 1938, Effie grew up in Teague, Texas and graduated from Teague High School in 1956. Graduation from high school came after 3 years due to her accelerated education.
Effie attended Navarro Junior College where she met Euin Emmerson Frank. They were married on May 25, 1957. Her first son, Eric Emmerson Frank, was born on September 5, 1959, in Spur, Texas. They soon moved to Corsicana. Her second son, Todd Elliot Frank was born on April 29, 1964, in
Corsicana, Tx, Effie became the most excellent mother. Effie had a lifelong love for children, and tremendous love of 18 years, after retirement, for her beloved pet Cosmo.
After moving to Corsicana in 1960, Effie worked for the department store called K. Wolens. She later was employed at Corsicana National Bank and retired from Corsicana I.S.D. as a materials center technician.
During her years in Corsicana, she was extremely active in the Corsicana Garden Club, winning many first-place awards for her creative abilities in flower arranging. Effie was also involved with many civic non-profit organizations in Corsicana, such as the Navarro County Chamber of Commerce, Corsicana Planning and Zoning Commission, and parent teacher associations with her two sons. She was awarded the Navarro College Distinguished Alumni Award from the President of Navarro College for her dedication and involvement with service to the community.
Effie had an outstanding personality, always smiling, making friends, and eager to help anyone. Faye Blood, a neighbor in the 1970's, became her best friend. When Faye passed away, Faye's daughter Lillian Ann Brown took Faye's place to become Effie's best friend. While employed at Corsicana I.S.D. Debbie Fuller became a close friend. She made many friends while at Corsicana I.S.D. Other good friends included Mickey Kelly, Betty Simmons, Ava Nell Stewart, Mrs. Ann Wolens, Louis Wolens, and Richie Scott. Effie made friends at every point in her life.
Effie was preceded in passing by her parents, husband Euin Frank, her five siblings; Shirley, Faye, Ethel, Duel and Ocie (Effie was the youngest of the siblings), sister-in-law Ginger Teer, brother-in-law Charles Messer, brother-in-law Charles Kelly, and brother-in-law Ed Harris. Effie was particularly close to her sisters Shirley Harris and Ethel Kelly, both of Corpus Christi, Texas.
She is survived by her sons Eric Frank, Todd Frank and wife Velma; nieces Judy Harris, Ronda Laurel and husband Wayne of Corpus Christi, Texas; nephew Lynn Kelly and wife Mary Grace; sister-in-law Margaret Messer, Chuck Messer, Marie Messer; brother-in-law Bob Teer, Scott Teer and wife Lanee, as well as numerous children of nieces and nephews. Other survivors include Jackie Frank, Linda Lewis, Charles Frank, Preston Frank, Celeste Urbank, and Mark Frank.
Visitation will be 6pm – 8pm Thursday Evening, February 19, 2026, at Corley Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2pm Friday afternoon, February 20, 2026, at Corley Funeral Home, followed by the graveside at Oakwood Cemetery, in
Corsicana, Texas.
