Ruth Tedder, 99 of Pavo, passed away on January 24, 2026. She was born on February 22, 1926, in Arcadia, FL, to the late Carroll B. Zeigler Sr. and Ethel Touchton Zeigler.
Ruth found joy and fulfillment in her hobbies, most notably quilting and sewing. Ruth was an active member of the Oak Grove Church Women's Quilting Club, where she shared her passion for quilting with friends and created cherished handmade items for her loved ones.
She was married to the late George B. Tedder Sr. on July 11, 1942, and they shared a loving union that lasted 67 years until his passing in 2010. Together, they built a family and a legacy of love that will be cherished by generations to come.
A devoted member of the Okapilco Baptist Church, Ruth embodied the spirit of her faith through her generous heart and the kindness she extended to all who crossed her path. She touched the lives of many in her community and will be remembered for her warmth and unwavering support.
She is survived by her children, Terry Tedder, Benny Tedder, Lloyd Tedder, Sherry Green, Lisa Pope, and Wendell Tedder; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 21 great-great-grandchildren; and half-siblings Lawrence Zeigler and Nolie White.
Ruth is preceded in death by her daughter, Faye Monk, siblings Odelle, Inez, Elizabeth, and Carroll, half-siblings Nell, Betty, and David, and grandson Tony Tedder.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at Okapilco Baptist Church Cemetery in Quitman at 11 am with Pastor Greg Icard officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, from 5-7 pm at Allen & Allen Funeral Home.
