Efren and I graduated from Robstown High School in 1956. We stayed in touch throughout the years and met in Robstown off and on from 1995 to 2015 or so. We both belonged to a birthday group of about 12 1956 graduates. We would meet for lunch and reflect on our great times together over the years. We all held Efren in high regard, especially since he was the only PhD in the group, although there were among us some lofty professions. He was a very good friend, thoughtful, smart, kind and a real gentleman. I would like to express my condolences to his daughters and the rest of his family. Sincerely, Felix and (Irma Chapa) Ocanas
