Eileen Becker

An exceptionally brave, strong, and accomplished woman is now in God's loving arms -- Eileen Teresa O'Keefe Becker. She shared a marriage with her beloved husband, Timothy Becker. She was the daughter of James F. O'Keefe and Marjorie (Tucker) O'Keefe; and sister of James John O'Keefe and Gary O'Keefe.
Eileen poured her talents and her heart into the Nursing profession, about which she was passionate. She was an expert in every aspect of nursing operations, including emergency room settings. She trained and mentored nurses and nursing students. She was highly sought after for her wealth of knowledge of virtually every human, technical, and managerial aspect in the profession.
Her education began at St. Christopher's School in East Hartford in their first graduating class. She then went on into East Catholic and graduated in the Class of 1970. She completed St. Francis Hospital's Nursing program in 1971. Eileen earned her BSN at the University of Massachusetts in 1992. She earned her MSN in Nursing Administration from the University of Hartford in 1994. She went on to work at several hospitals; among them were Manchester Memorial Hospital, UMass Hospital (University of Massachusetts Medical School/Health System), and Beverly Hospital (part of Beth Israel Lahey Health in Massachusetts).
A person of deep faith, she left us too soon and is deeply missed and mourned by her family and her many friends.
Besides her husband, she leaves her mother, Marjorie O'Keefe, to whom she was devoted; her brother, Gary O'Keefe and his wife, Mary. She also leaves her daughter-in-law, Maureen Becker; her son-in-law, Stephen Becker and his wife Laura, and their son Liam. She also leaves her German Shepherd companion, Schatzi. Eileen was predeceased by her father, James F. O'Keefe and her brother, James J. O'Keefe Sr., both of whom she loved dearly.
Visiting hours will be at John F. Tierney Funeral Home in Manchester on Wednesday, December 31st from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Maurice Church in Bolton, Connecticut followed by a brief service at East Cemetery in Manchester, Connecticut.
