Eileen May Briski

Eileen (nee Korman) Briski, 80 years old, of Downers Grove, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 16, 2025, after spending the day with loving family. Eileen was born October 18, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Harry and Sylvia (nee Greene) Korman. Eileen was the light of their lives. She graduated from Von Steuben High School in 1962 and went on to have a long career as a secretary and customer service specialist with agencies focused on long-term care insurance coverage. Eileen loved talking with customers and cared deeply about helping people.
Eileen married Raymond Briski in 1968, and they were together for 43 years, until his death in 2011. They were inseparable, shared many interests, and were devoted to their daughters and grandchildren. After Ray's death, Eileen moved to the southwest suburbs, where she enjoyed many happy years spending time with her family and, as she was wont to do, making friends wherever she went. A lifelong Cubs fan, Eileen enjoyed playing games of all types, but in particular cards and bingo, eating out at restaurants, shopping, reading, watching Lifetime movies, talking on the phone, attending all of her grandchildren's events, and, most importantly, just being with her children, grandchildren, and friends.
Remaining to cherish Eileen's memory are daughters Nicole (David) Leatherwood and Andrea (Drew) McCalmon, grandchildren Emily Leatherwood, Johnathon Leatherwood, and Kevin Leatherwood, and step-granddaughter Lindsey (Jessica) Leatherwood. Preceding Eileen in death are husband Raymond Briski, parents Harry and Sylvia Korman, in-laws Stanley and Isabelle Briski, brother-in law Richard (Tommie) Briski, and sister-in-law Adrienne (Jerome) Gagliardi.
A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 20th, 2025 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with Chapel Services to commence at 7:00pm at Cappetta's West Suburban Funeral Home, 4920 Main St. Downers Grove, IL 60515. Funeral Services for Interment will be at 10:30am on Friday, February 21st, 2025 at Calumet Park Cemetery, 2305 W 73rd Ave, Merrillville, IN 46410. Friends and family are to meet at Calumet Park Funeral Home, 7535 Taft St. Merrillville, IN 46410, for a procession to the cemetery at 10:30am.
