Brock, Sister Julienne de la Visitation, (Eileen) was called home to God after a brief illness on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the age of 87. Sr. Julienne was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 13, 1938. She was the proud daughter of her late Father, James Brock, who was from Roscommon, Ireland and her Mother Catherine Hanlon. She was the eldest of four children. All who preceded her in death (James, Thomas and John). Sr. Julienne had deep roots to her Irish heritage and a great devotion to Our Lady of Knock.

Sister entered the Little Sisters of the Poor in 1956 and pronounced her first vows on June 15, 1959, in Queens, New York, and her Perpetual vows on October 15, 1963, in La Tour, France. Sr. Julienne had 66 years of religious life; throughout those years she cared for the elderly in many homes throughout the United States including: Detroit where she became a Licensed Practical Nurse, Washington, Cincinnati, New York, New Haven, Queen of Peace, N.Y. (twice), Scranton, Latham, Enfield, Totowa and most recently Pittsburgh.

Anyone who ever met Sr. Julienne will attest to the fact that she was a people's person and always spread joy and laughter in her wake. Her kind and loving attention to the elderly brought much comfort, especially to those who received a daily room visit. She loved helping people, putting others first and never complained about how much work she had to do nor how much pain she endured for more than 50 years. She was courageous till the very end. Her gift for animation and her love for nature and all God's creatures, was also evident in every home she resided.

Sr. Julienne had a great love for her family and was no stranger to suffering, which she experienced very early in her life when her young brother Thomas died suddenly at the age of five, and again when she lost another brother, James LCpl in the Marine Corp. at the age of 23, during the Vietnam war. She was very proud of him, and her love for our Country gave her additional strength and courage.

Sister was always faithful to pray daily the Divine Mercy. In God's providence, Sr. Julienne went home to her Divine Spouse on the feast of Our Lady of Mercy.

Sr. Julienne is survived by many cousins and friends both in the U.S.A. and Ireland.

Funeral services will be celebrated at the Little Sisters of the Poor / Sts. Peter and Paul Home, 1028 Benton Ave. Pittsburgh, PA. The Wake Service will be Tuesday, September 30, from 2:30 – 6:00 p.m. with a special rosary at 4:30 p.m. Mass of Resurrection will be Wednesday, October 1st at 10:30 a.m. in the Gloria Chapel at the Little Sisters of the Poor.
