Eileen Elizabeth Kelly Sentell Chrisope

Eileen Elizabeth Kelly Sentell Chrisope of Marietta, GA, passed away on July 30, 2025, at the age of 100. She was born on June 5, 1925, in Seattle, WA, to Kathleen 'Kitty' Kelly.

She was predeceased by two husbands, Kelley S. Sentell and Irl Chrisope; her two daughters, Lynn Anne Chandler and Terri Anne Sentell; and her brother, Jerry Kelly.

She is survived by her daughter Christy Anne Kirkland (Barry) of Marietta, GA; son Kevin Kelley Sentell (BJ) of Myrtle Beach, SC; son Craig Martin Sentell (Jane) of Alpharetta, GA; and son Kenneth Andrew Sentell (Katarina) of Stockholm, Sweden. She leaves ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Eileen grew up in Seattle with her mother and brother. Following high school, the three moved to San Diego, CA. There she eventually met her first husband, Kelley, who was serving in the U.S. Navy, and was to see active duty in the South Pacific during World War II. Keeping up a long-distance romance for two years, they were finally able to marry in Texas at the end of the war. The first two children were born in Birmingham, AL after which they moved to Louisville, KY where the remaining children were born. Relocating to the Atlanta area in the mid-1960's, the family settled down in Decatur.

She was a dedicated homemaker and loved having kids (hers and the neighbors') filling the large back yard. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and gardening. She excelled in the garden and became a certified Master Gardener, graciously sharing her knowledge with the community. Several years after Kelley passed, Eileen met Irl Chrisope. The two eventually married and settled in the Lawrenceville area. She and Irl loved traveling together, taking frequent trips around the U.S. and abroad. Elieen was a devout church member and became the first female eucharistic minister (outside of clergy) within her church.

Her greatest joy came from her children and grandchildren who adored her and will miss her dearly. Her legacy will live on through the love she shared, her faith and compassion, the memories she created and the impact she left on those who were fortunate to know her.

A Memorial Service will be held at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, located 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy, Lawrenceville, GA 30046, on the 23rd of August, 2025, at 2:00 PM (visitation at 1:00 PM). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to MUST Ministries, Marietta, GA or Affinity Care Hospice, Atlanta, GA.
