Eileen Conover

Eileen Conover passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025 in Smithtown, New York at the age of 87. Born in 1937 in Bronx, New York, where she later met her husband, John, and were happily married for 64 years.
She worked on Wall Street briefly as a secretary before starting a family and raising four beautiful children. She embraced the role of homemaker with grace and joy, but quickly became the rule enforcer. The home was a place of warmth filled with home-cooked meals, the sound of laughter and immense amount of love.
Eileen enjoyed being surrounded by her family and friends. She was a great listener, always being a shoulder to lean on. She had such a contagious laugh and a voice that you'll always remember when she picked up the phone and sang "happy birthday" to you.
A woman of strong faith, Eileen had a servant heart working for many years with young couples at St. Francis of Assisi's Pre-Cana program and volunteering at St. Joseph's Food Pantry.
When she wasn't giving back to the community, she enjoyed ceramics classes, reading, playing Tennis and taking long walks on the Sunken Meadow boardwalk. Her and John loved traveling up and down the East Coast in their RV, making stops at beach destinations along the way. She loved a good board game, whether it was playing Scrabble with her sister, Bernadette, or getting everyone in the family hooked on Dominos. But most especially, she found true joy in being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Eileen is survived by her husband John, her children John (Jean), Maryclaire, Daniel (Patty), Timothy (Tracy), her grandchildren, Alex (Jena), Kayla (John), Brenna (Nick), Olivia, LJ, Tyler, Thomas and her great grandchildren, Emmett and Luca.
Eileen was truly loved, and will be forever in our hearts.
