Eileen F. Jacobson, 83, of Ely, Iowa, formerly of Martelle, Iowa, died Thursday, January 15, 2026. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 23, 2026, at St. John Lutheran Church, 1420 Walker Street, Ely. Burial: Central Lutheran Cemetery, Pelican Rapids, Minnesota.
Eileen was born on September 12, 1942, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of James and Pearl (Wink) Parks. She graduated from Martelle High School with the Class of 1960 and continued her education at Cedar Rapids Business College. On April 10, 1965, Eileen was united in marriage to Robert Gary Jacobson in Martelle.
She began her career with the Cedar Rapids Chamber of Commerce before dedicating 29 years of service as a IMC Secretary with the Cedar Rapids Community School District, retiring in 2006. Eileen was a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church in Ely, where she served as church secretary and past council president. She was also on the board of Ely Senior Housing. Eileen enjoyed dancing on Wednesday nights with Robert, was a music enthusiast, and found great joy in flowers and gardening. In her later years, she was a faithful member of Curves, attending workouts three times each week.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert Jacobson of Ely; her son, Tony (Kristine) Jacobson of Naperville, Illinois; her grandsons, Matthew Jacobson of Grimes, Iowa, and Bryce (Winter) Jacobson of Ft. Collins, Colorado; her sister, Janice Fall-Luchtenburg of Anamosa; and her sister-in-law, Colleen Parks of Clarion, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Stanley Parks; and her brothers-in-law, LaVerle Fall and Harold Luchtenburg.
