Eileen C. McGrady, 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sunrise of Wayne on October 15, 2025. She was born in Paterson to Frank & Helen Moran in June of 1930. Eileen graduated from St. John's High School, Paterson in 1948. After High School, she graduated from Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School and worked for the President of the Paterson Chamber of Commerce. Eileen was a resident of Clifton for 62 years.
Her long, full life was an adventure, surrounded by family and friends. Shortly after her marriage to Joseph McGrady in 1952, his Naval orders sent him to Japan, while serving during the Korean war. Eileen moved to Yokohama, to be with him, and returned to the States with their first two of five energetic children.
After raising her family, Eileen enjoyed traveling, both internationally and domestically with Joe, although their greatest joy was being with family and friends at their summer home in Lavallette.
Eileen was the past President of St. Joseph's Hospital Junior Woman's Auxiliary. She worked part time as a secretary at Paul VI HS, Clifton, St. George's Church, Paterson, where she was a long-time member of the choir, and St. Paul's Church, Clifton.
Eileen was a well-known piano player. She shared this talent with many, most notably as a volunteer for 18 years at the Little Sisters of the Poor, Totowa where she brought immeasurable happiness to the residents playing their favorite songs. She later became a resident there, continuing to play until it's closing in September of 2023.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of 63 years Joseph McGrady, and her son-in law John Farley. She is survived by her children Bob (Patty), JoAnne Farley, Brian (Kathy), Michael (Mary Jo), and Maureen Sciolaro (Robert). She was adored by her 17 grandchildren: Jackie, Erin, Jennifer, Brian, Lauren, Jamie, Patrick, Danny, Kyle, Tommy, Caitlin, Joe, Maureen, Kirstin, Danielle, Cara, and Danny as well as her 19 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Sunday October 19th from 1:00 to 5:00 PM at the Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten., Clifton.
