Eileen Plummer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Homes - Willoughby on Mar. 12, 2026.
Eileen Frances Hannan Plummer passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She was born on November 16, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, and throughout her life remained deeply proud of her Irish heritage, carrying it with a warmth as comforting as a summer fire and a wit as sharp as the Cleveland winds.

In 1968, Eileen made her home in Willoughby, where she planted roots and created a warm, welcoming home for nearly six decades. It was there that she built a life centered on family, friendship, and the simple joys that meant the most to her.

Above all else, Eileen's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving daughters, Kathleen Plummer Wallace and Colleen Plummer (J.D.) DeBoskey. Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren, Kristiana Marie McInnis, Sean James McInnis, Morgan Wallace, MeKenna Wallace, Astian Plummer, and Taylor Plummer, as well as her beloved great-grandchildren, Maeve Marie McInnis and Leland McInnis.

Eileen found her happiest moments outdoors. Whether she had a fishing pole in hand or was gathered around a glowing campfire, she loved sharing time in nature with her children, grandchildren, and friends who soon felt like family. Stories told beneath the stars, laughter echoing through the campsite, and quiet moments by the water were among the memories she treasured most. Since 1991, she was a proud member of the Willowick Campers Club, where she also faithfully served as the club's secretary and formed many lasting friendships. She also loved music, especially Irish and country songs, and was a devoted fan of Johnny Cash.

Her children fondly remember a childhood filled with imagination and care. Eileen encouraged creativity and play, lovingly sewing clothes for their dolls, planning vacations filled with pools and laughter, and taking memorable trips to Geauga Lake. These moments became the stories and traditions that her family will carry forward.

Eileen also worked at LTL Trucking, where she was known as the fastest billing typist in the office.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 35 years, James Plummer, and by her sons, James Plummer Jr. and Johnny Plummer.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, March 16, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 38001 Euclid Avenue, Willoughby, to share memories and support one another. A Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 17, at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Willoughby Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a child fishing, sit around a campfire with someone you love, or simply raise a toast to the beautiful, proud Irish woman who meant so much to so many. Surely, her Irish eyes are smiling.

The family also requests that, if possible, guests wear green in honor of Eileen's love of her Irish heritage and her fondness for St. Patrick's Day, one of her favorite days of the year.
