Eileen Ardis Johnson, age 86, of Pelican Rapids, MN, died Saturday, September 21, at Essentia Hospital in Fargo, ND, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was born to Walfred and Martha (Damschen) Johnson in Pelican Rapids, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church. She attended Dunn Township school district 167 through grade 8, then attended and graduated from Pelican Rapids High School in 1956.
On September 1, 1956, Eileen married her best friend, Robert Robley of Pelican Rapids, MN, at Zion Lutheran Church. They were parents to three children: Rachael, Rebecca, and Robert. Eileen worked at West Central Turkeys for 22 years.
Eileen loved to travel, touring all 50 states and much of Europe. She was a dedicated and faithful member of Zion, serving in many capacities, most recently the Quilter’s club Wednesday Women’s Devotions and of course planting and maintaining the beautiful flowers at church. She made the best potato salad and was in high demand at any function.
Eileen is survived by daughters Rachael Robley of Fargo, ND, Rebecca Robley of Pelican Rapids, MN, and Robert Robley of Vergas, MN; grandchildren; Joe Potter of Mankato, MN, Katherine Daniels of Woodbury, MN, and Stacy Daniels of Fargo ND; great grandchildren; Lydia Potter of Fairmont, MN, Mason and Anders Schladweiler; great-great grandchildren; Oliver White and Emma Handy, sisters-in-law; Jeri Johnson and Joyce Davis, many nieces, nephews and cousins as well as many dear friends and neighbors that made her life rich and blessed.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Robert, brothers; Verlyn and Larry, and sister, Marlys Robley, and many brothers and sisters-in-law.
A visitation for Eileen will be held at Larson Funeral and Cremation Service, 12 5th Avenue NE, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572, on Friday, September 27, 2024, from 5 to 7 PM. A prayer service will close out the evening at 6:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, 24876 Franklin Lake Rd, Pelican Rapids, MN 56572, on Saturday, September 28 at 2 PM with Pastor Anna Monke-Gervais officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Burial will follow in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery.
