Eileen Marie Sullivan died unexpectedly on January 16, 2023 following a brief illness.

A life-long resident of the Bronx, Eileen was the second child born to Julia (Sheila) nee Sullivan and Patrick Sullivan, both of whom predeceased her. She is survived by her brother, John (Jack) and her sister-in-law, Judith Egan Sullivan; many cousins; and, a multitude of friends.

Eileen graduated from St. John's School in Kingsbridge and St. Thomas Aquinas High School in the Bronx. She held a Bachelor of Arts degree from Fordham University and a Master of Arts from Manhattan College. Eileen had two separate, successful careers: She was an educator in the New York City Archdiocese school system and a Human Resources director with Revlon. She retired from the Church of the Incarnation as a developer and fund-raiser, after having served as the Assistant Principal in the elementary school there.

Eileen also served on the Board of Directors in her Riverdale co-op, where her last position on the Board was that of Treasurer.

Eileen was a fun-loving woman, who enjoyed nothing more than spending time with her friends. Her endearing disposition won her many life-long friends. She loved life, good books, good food and fine wine. Her passing has left a void in many lives which will be impossible to fill.

Reposing 4-7 pm Friday, January 20, 2023 at Riverdale-on-Hudson Funeral Home, 6110 Riverdale Avenue, Bronx, NY. Mass of Christian Burial 9:45 am Saturday at St. Margaret of Cortona Church. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne NY.
