Eileen Loretta Traino, age 88, of Rockaway, New Jersey, died on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Morristown, New Jersey. Born in Paterson NJ to the late John and Mary Geier, she moved to Lake Hiawatha after her marriage to Victor; they relocated to Rockaway in 1964. Eileen was a member of St. Cecilia Church in Rockaway.
Eileen worked as a general clerk at Public Service Electric and Gas before becoming a stay at home mom. She re-entered the work force to become the bookkeeper and parish secretary for St. Cecilia Church.
She was a semi-professional xylophone player prior to getting married, and also bowled in a work league. Raising her children was her main interest while enjoying cooking, entertaining and sewing. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and loved Christmas, especially decorating her tree.
She is preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Peggy Traino. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Victor Traino; four children, Terry Carlson (Ron), Robert Traino, Gary Traino (Carol), and Jerry Traino (Maripat); 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Geier of Largo, FL.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 1 2024 from 4:00 - 7:00PM at the Whitham-Kanapaux Funeral Home, 20 Keller Ave., Rockaway, NJ. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00AM at St. Cecilia Church. Interment will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Rockaway.
