YOUNGSTOWN - Samuel "Sammy" J. Traino III, 61, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the Greenbriar Healthcare Center, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of kindness.
Born on March 25, 1963, in Youngstown, Ohio, Sam was the son of Virginia Bistarkey Traino and Samuel J. Traino Jr. He graduated from Fitch High School in 1981 and continued his education with some college courses at Youngstown State University. For nearly 30 years, Sam devoted his professional life to Polaris Windows & Doors, formerly recognized as Modern Builders. His dedication to his work exemplified his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Outside of his career, Sam was a passionate enthusiast of Chevy Camaros, a hobby that brought him immense joy and fulfillment. He took pride in fixing them up, ensuring they received the utmost care. In addition to his love for cars, he was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians, sharing his enthusiasm with his family, especially his mother, with whom he maintained a routine tradition of calling to discuss the latest game. He was also an animal enthusiast, recognizing the special role that comes with taking care of animals.
Sam is survived by his mother, Virginia Bistarkey Traino, and his father, Samuel J. Traino Jr. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia "Gina" Traino, who was a significant part of his life.
As we remember Sammy, we celebrate a man who lived with passion, embraced his interests wholeheartedly, and cultivated loving relationships with his family and friends. His memory will forever be a source of comfort and inspiration to those who knew him.
There will be no public services held for Sammy at this time. He will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
