EL Hampton, 69, of Canton, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2025. EL was born on December 22, 1955 to the late James and Louise Hampton in Bett, Mississippi (Coldwater).
The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri where EL attended Kansas City public schools. EL was a construction worker- he loved tearing down and building things.
EL departed this life on March 8, 2025. He was preceded in death by his father, James Hampton; mother, Louise Hampton; brothers, Willie Hampton, James Hampton Jr., Eddie Hampton Sr., Jesse Hampton and David Hampton; sisters, Betty Lou Hampton, Lillian Palton and LaPearl Hampton.
He leaves to cherish his memory son Monell Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; daughter LaShanda M. Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren Nevaeh Bartley, Donavon Johnson, Aaliyah White, Alicia White, and Makiyaha Johnson all of Kansas City, Missouri; great-grandson Angel White of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers Charles Hampton, Rickey (Rosalind) Hampton, Milton (Gail) Hampton and Gregory Hampton, all of Kansas City, Missouri, and Otis (Christina) Hampton of Kirksville, Missouri; sisters Dorothy (Randy) Johnson and Frankie (Clayton) Williams all of Kansas City, Missouri; sisters-in-laws Betty Hampton of Atlanta, Georgia and Alberta Hampton of Canton, Ohio; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Paquelet Funeral Home, 1100 Wales Rd. NE Massillon, OH 44646 on Friday, March 21st from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service that begins at 12:00 p.m. Interment to follow the service at Massillon Cemetery, where EL will be laid to rest.
