Elaine C. Bogardus, 74, of 237 Fairmount Avenue, died Tuesday May 13, 2025, in UPMC Chautauqua.
She was born May 3, 1951, in Salamanca, NY, a daughter of the late Hugh and Rowena Bargy Hoxie.
She was a graduate of Randolph Central School and later earned an associate's degree from Jamestown Community College.
Prior to her retirement she was employed by Jamestown Public School District as a paraprofessional at Love Elementary School. She also worked for Tops Market in the meat department.
Surviving is her son George (Amanda) Bogardus II, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren Rhiannon Bogardus and George Bogardus III; a brother Raymond (Edith) Hoxie of Randolph and two sisters Harriett (Gary) Strong of Sinclairville and Linda (Bill) Myers of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband George Bogardus who died August 16, 1984; two brothers Bill and Thomas Hoxie and a sister Evelyn Sarno.
The funeral will be held at 5 pm Monday in the Lind Funeral Home where friends will be received for one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Youth Symphony, P.O. Box 3454, Jamestown, NY 14702.
