Elaine (Filippi) Clements passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024 at the age of 81.

She was born December 17, 1942 to Julius and Edith Filippi in Queens, New York. She is survived by her husband Kevin Clements, sister Janet (Filippi) Comparato and her husband Robert, daughter Karen Clements, son Brian Clements and his wife Ginger, grandchildren Maddy and Andrew, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elaine grew up in Queens, NY and married her high school sweetheart Kevin in 1963, with whom she recently celebrated their 61st anniversary. Elaine and Kevin moved to Westboro in 1970 to raise their family. When her children reached school age, Elaine returned to school to finish her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology at Clark University and her Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Assumption College, both in Worcester. She then worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor in both the public and private settings. After retirement she lived in Brookline and Orleans and recently moved to Hingham.

Elaine was a vivacious woman who loved to laugh and had a beautiful smile. She was an avid reader and enjoyed visiting art museums and attending theater and concerts. She traveled the world with her family and friends, visiting six continents throughout her life. In her retirement she became politically active, enthusiastically writing postcards, knocking on doors, and marching for principles in which she passionately believed. Elaine was a woman of action, strength, determination, faith, hope, and generosity. She led through example, no more so than during her 10-month battle with cancer. She loved her family and friends fiercely and they will miss her dearly.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Thursday 9-10:30 AM in the Pyne Keohane Funeral Home, 21 Emerald St. (off Central St.), HINGHAM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Paul’s Church, Hingham at 11 AM.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Elaine may be made to American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.
