It is with great sadness we announce the passing of "The Cherished, Loved, Star and Central Figure in Our Lives."
Elaine K. Fehrenbach (Spitt) passed away peacefully on the evening of Friday December 27, 2024, three months short of her 98th birthday, an accomplishment, in itself, a life well lived, a life of blessings and losses.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield, where a visitation will be from 9:00 am until service time. The service will be streamed online at www.facebook.com/rembsfuneralhomes. Rev. Daniel Thelen will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Rembs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Elaine was born in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to William and Grace Spitt (Letcher) on March 16, 1927.
Elaine spent her childhood years in Eau Claire attending elementary and high school, as well as the workforce at Sacred Heart Hospital. On October 25, 1947, Elaine and Richard Fehrenbach were united in marriage in Eau Claire, the beginning of a loving, committed & supporting family life, where they lived for three years.
In 1950 they relocated to Marshfield, WI, as Richard joined his father at Fehrenbach Printing until his death in 1976. Elaine was a lifetime member of St. John's Church, raised her family on a schedule, and instilled in us compassion and kindness.
Faith, family and friends were goals. She volunteered at the hospital for many years, joined her friends in swim classes at the YMCA, and had great pleasure at monthly luncheons with "the ladies".
Mom enjoyed attending school functions, church programs, and was an avid supporter of high school, college and professional sports leagues. In her later years she enjoyed watching her favorite shows, DWTS and Hallmark to name a few. Elaine had many passions, gifted in many ways, her greatest being a devoted mother of 11, always a constant figure in her children's lives. Not a day went by where we didn't feel her love and support not to mention her dedication to each and every one of us, her kind and generous nature of repeatedly putting others first was a testament of selflessness that will live on through her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elaine loved the holidays Christmas being a favorite, what an artist she was, from the tree, to wrapping all the many gifts, to baking and frosting cookies. This can also be said of the many meals she prepared to the immaculate home she kept.
Elaine is survived by her children; Bonnie Arnoldy, Carol Haumschild (Dan), Tim Fehrenbach, Mary Fehrenbach, Diane (Eric) Fehrenbach, Nancy (Allen) Polster, Tom Fehrenbach, and Janet Southworth. She is also survived by grandchildren; Ryan, Nick, Tara, Eric, Sean, Travis, Justin, Collin, Josh, Miles, Jonathan, Quinn, Jenna, Jordan, Matthew and Emily, great grandchildren; Avery, Mason, Rowyn, Jason, Katelyn, Spencer, Cooper, Koby, Nora, Oscar, Avery, Zoey, Luke, Charlotte, Aubrianna and RaeLee, Julian and Nolan. Elaine is further survived by her sister Cathy Ebert of Eau Claire, WI, a son-in-law, Peter Knight, nine nieces and nephews, along with their children and grandchildren.
Elaine was preceded by her parents William and Grace Spitt, sister Lucille, mother and father-in-law William and Helen Fehrenbach, husband Richard, son Terry, daughters Sharon and Ann, son-in-law Roger Arnoldy and daughter-in-law Sheri Fehrenbach.
We say goodbye to a remarkable woman who lived life by her beliefs, a pillar of unwavering strength and compassion. A beloved soul who touched many lives. Every time Mom was summoned to do something, or help someone, she stepped up,.every time. Always there!
Forever remembered, forever missed. As you were, you will always be treasured forever in our memory.
A special thank you to Dana Egner of Dana's Tender Hearts Home. The exceptional care and love you gave Mom the last two months was a Godsend!
