Elaine C Kenyon

Elaine C. (Theriault) Kenyon, 81, of Ipswich, passed away Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Gloucester, after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease.
Born October 19, 1942, in Salem, MA. Elaine was the daughter of the late Olivette (Bedard) and Laurier Theriault of Salem, MA.
Elaine attended St. Joseph's Catholic High School and graduated in 1958. Elaine met the love of her life, George Kenyon, as a teenager. Married for 62 years, their love for each other could and did weather any storm.
Prior to raising her family, Elaine was a switchboard operator, employed by the New England Telephone Company. Elaine found her true life passion when she began her career as a school bus driver, driving "her kids". She was employed by the Town of Ipswich for 28 years, driving her bus and loving every minute of it!
Elaine got to know each child and family and would selflessly help many of the families along the way. On more than one occasion, Elaine would be rushing to TJ Maxx to get "her kids" clothes or anything she could to help families that went without. Her kindness and generosity have made a lasting impact on many local families. It's a common occurrence to hear a story of a fond memory of "Miss Elaine", their beloved bus driver.
In Elaine's free time, you could find her scratching tickets while chatting away with friends. Elaine was always dressed to the nines with her bags packed ready to hit the casino! She had a gift of making every stranger her friend. She was truly a special person and touched many lives.
Elaine is survived by her husband George Kenyon of Ipswich; Her three daughters, Cheryle Feugill, of Ipswich; Sandra Sukach and her husband David of Ipswich; Kerrie Kenyon and her partner Dave of Ipswich; and granddaughter Brittany MacIntyre of Ipswich. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur Theriault of San Diego, CA.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Elaine at the St. Lawrence Literary Society, 14 Fairview Ave., Ipswich, on Saturday, October 19, which would have been Elaine's 82nd birthday, at 2:00 p.m.
