Elaine Ruth Matteson

Elaine Ruth Colton Matteson, born in Otterville Iowa and raised in Independence Iowa, passed away on Mother's day 2025 but it will not be seen as sad day. It's the day she gained her peace. She passed away from a lengthy illness. She was preceeded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, and one sister. She also was proceeded in death by two sons, Kevin B. Matteson and David A. Matteson. She leaves behind her husband of nearly 68 years Ralph R. Matteson, one sister Geri R. Pizzato, four sons: Randy and his wife Lucinda Matteson of Colorado Springs, Renald and his wife Alisa Matteson of Sand Springs, Roger Matteson of Henderson Nevada, Ralph. "Kent" Matteson of Sand Springs. 3 daughters Karen "Kaye" Matteson of Longview TX, Teresa Matteson of Hallsville, and Tammy Adams of Longview. She also leaves behind 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. The Memorial will be held on June 7th at 1pm at the Longview Arboretum and Nature Center, 706 W Cotton St, Longview, TX 75604.
