Elaine Robertson Obituary
ELAINE MARY ROBERTSON
April 26, 1945 ˜ July 29, 2023
Elaine (Lainy) Mary Robertson was born in Grand Rapids, MN, to Walter and Edna Nix. She attended high school at Hillcrest Academy, graduating in 1963, then received a degree in social work from the University of North Dakota. Lainy married her beloved husband Nathan in August of 1977, and they spent the next phase of their lives raising their sons Joshua and Benjamin.
Lainy was a fun-spirited woman who was always ready for the next adventure. She loved being with people. Lainy blessed many people with her heart of service and especially enjoyed ministering in her church and her many mission trips to Uganda. Lainy loved her grandchildren and spent many hours babysitting and making pancakes together. Some of her last words included reciting Proverbs 3:5 to them: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths.” She always pointed people to Jesus and gave God credit for everything through her cancer journey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Nathan; and her sister, Andy. She is survived by her sons, Joshua (Heather) and Benjamin; her grandchildren, Isaac, Amelia, and Megan; sister, Gini; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family around the globe.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 16, at Proebstel Church, 18702 NE Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver, WA. Please join us to cheerfully remember her life immediately following the memorial at Velvet Acres Gardens, 18905 NE 83rd St., Vancouver, WA. Lainy was a special, sweet lady. She was always helping others by cheering them up. We appreciated her visiting my Mother in the nursing home and showing her kindness.
