Elaine B. Soucie December 28th, 1970 – September 4th, 2025
Elaine Barbara Soucie, 54, passed away peacefully in the comfort of her family at the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, on Thursday, September 4th, 2025. Born in Berlin on December 28th, 1970, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence W. and Jeanette C. (Despault) Westover Sr. On June 15th, 1991, she married Darrell J. Soucie at the Middlesex Methodist Church.
She was a graduate of Harwood Union High School in Moretown. After high school, she worked at the Novella Furniture company in Barre. She moved to Connecticut in 1990 and was employed in retail management at Eastbrook Mall. She had a genuine passion for fashion and interior design, and her style was distinctly her own. She returned to Vermont in 2024.
Elaine enjoyed collecting antique glass eye cups, dolls, and ladies' handbags. She loved to spend time with family, decorating, and cooking for the holidays. She was a very creative person.
Elaine is loved and mourned by her family, her husband, Darrell J. Soucie of Ashford, CT, her sisters, Lisa Shephard and her husband, Kris, of Moretown, Gena Westover Grey and her husband, Paul, of Stratford, CT, and Clara Jo Summers of Maryville, TN. Her brothers, Lawrence W. Westover Jr, and his companion, Darcy Coutts, of Moretown, and Keith Westover of Moretown. Her close companion, Timothy Audy, and Marley Elaine's service dog of Moretown.
A private family graveside service for Elaine was held at the Middlesex Center Cemetery. She was laid to rest beside her parents in the Westover Family plot. For those who wish to make a memorial contribution in Elaine's memory to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidney.org.

Elaine will always live in my heart. Our times together at Eastbrook form some of my best and happiest memories. She was the free spirit that I wanted to be.

I love you,
