Elaine Grace Spear

Elaine Grace Spear, 90, of Charleroi, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 in the Residence at Hilltop. A daughter of the late John and Mabel (Brooks) Sickels, she was born on August 5, 1935.
A servant of the Lord and the helpmate to her husband of 68 years, she loved travelling, car rides, ice cream cones, spotting deer, Reese's peanut butter cups, and Pepsi. Only her love for Jesus surpassed her love for her husband, family, and God's people. Elaine was a member of the Char-Belle Free Methodist Church in Belle Vernon where she was very active in her husband's ministry and was the treasurer for 50 years. She will be remembered for her meek and quiet spirit and her unwavering faith in the Lord. Elaine had also been employed as a secretary for the former Daily Herald in Monongahela from 1953-1956 and was also a bookkeeper for 5 years for Foodland in Waynesburg.
She is survived by three sons and daughters in-law, Keith Spear of Daytona Beach, FL, Kevin and Laurene Spear of Belle Vernon, and J. Kendall and Eva Spear of Tallahassee, FL, six grandchildren, Kari (Daniel) DeFrank of Uniontown, Adam Spear of Belle Vernon, Sarah (Taylor) Parks of Uniontown, Grace Spear of Tallahassee, FL, Robert (Julia) Blystone of Pee Wee Valley, KY, and David Blystone of Tallahassee, FL, and her entire church family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Eugene H. Spear on June 8, 2024, a brother, Harold Eugene Sickels, and a sister, Elizabeth Sickels in infancy.
Friends will be received on Sunday, October 26, 2025 from 1 to 3 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
