Elaine P. Stewart, age 71, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on Friday, October 31, 2025.
The daughter of Joseph Sharp, Elaine was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Elaine was the beloved wife of Tom Stewart for 52 years, and the compassionate, loving mother of Autumn Saltmar and Brooke Stebler. Elaine was also the mother-in-law to Jesse Stebler and the late Christopher Saltmar, and a caring grandmother to Lily Saltmar, Luke Saltmar, and Adelaide Stebler. She was devoted to her family and ensured everyone felt deeply loved and cared for.
Elaine's happiest moments were spent with her family. Together they enjoyed numerous vacations to Cape May, Wildwood, and Disney World, where they enjoyed celebrating family members' birthdays at the Lobster House and viewing sunsets together on the beach. The loving connection they shared was fueled by laughter and affection.
An avid traveler, Elaine and her husband Tom journeyed to different parts of the world on countless cruises, meeting and befriending new people. She loved vacationing and cherished sand and palm trees. A favorite pastime of hers was taking long walks on the beach, where she enjoyed listening to the waves and finding seashells. Frequent trips to Disney World were treasured, and Elaine was always looking forward to enjoying sweet treats and riding It's a Small World with her children and grandchildren.
A lover of nature and photography, Elaine adored observing the animal life in her backyard. A proud dog mom to Bo, her pug, the two enjoyed sitting outside together and watching birds visit her garden.
Elaine possessed an extraordinary gift for connecting with anyone that she crossed paths with, forming an immense amount of meaningful friendships during her life. During her distinguished career as District Chief of Staff for Senator Jay Costa, she met many important figures, yet she treated everyone with equal grace and respect. Warm, genuine, and endlessly kind, she instantly made friends and had the innate ability to make everyone around her feel heard and loved.
Elaine's compassion, joy, and unwavering love will continue to live on in the hearts and lives of all who knew her.
