Heather Grantz Obituary

Heather Lynn (Rapp) Grantz, 46, of Allison Park, with loved ones at her side, entered heaven on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025. Though she was called home far too soon and will be deeply missed by her family and friends, her infectious smile, unconditional love, deep compassion and determination to live life on her terms will live on forever in all those she touched during her time on earth.
Heather, or simply "H" as she was known to many friends and family, was born Dec. 3, 1978, in Butler, the beloved daughter of Jeffrey Rapp (Susan) and the late Karen (Hummel) Rapp.
She is survived by Terry, her loving husband of 20 years; her sister, AmySue Miller (TJ); nieces, Kaylyn "Pip" Miller, Taylor Miller, Kelly Grantz and Cailin Grantz; nephews, Markus Grantz and Camron Lawton; and brother-in-law, Mark Grantz (Colleen). She was also deeply cherished by her mother-in-law, Elizabeth Grantz, and her late father-in-law, Richard; Jane and Jon Miller; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
For those who were lucky enough to meet her, she made an immediate impression that left everyone feeling truly touched as she shared in their joy, their pain or their sadness. She made everyone feel like they were the most important person in the world. Whether it had been a day or years, her genuine caring and compassion picked right back up as if no time had passed.
As many know, she was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension in 2013, a hereditary disease that also took her mother much too soon. As most of you also know, she refused to let the disease define her. She battled the disease with everything she had. At the annual PAH 5K Walk and Run, she was always the top fundraiser with an army of supporters.
After some struggles with the disease in 2020, she also became passionate about the powers of diet and utilizing natural remedies to aid in her fight. She would always be willing to share a remedy that she had researched and talk about the healing powers found in nature with all who would listen. She was so dedicated to her health that she even made it to 150 "camps" just this year at her gym prior to her passing.
She truly enjoyed the challenges of working in ethics and compliance at Howmet Aerospace, but she enjoyed boating, the beach and traveling even more. She loved going to concerts, football games and "Soft Pants Saturdays." However, most of all, she cherished the memories she made with family and friends, whether it was at her niece's horse shows, a day trip to Chicago for pizza or at her favorite beach bar in the British Virgin Islands. Just know that wherever she was, she was always the life of the party and would light up the room with her laughter and unforgettable blue eyes.
Heather will be deeply missed by so many people that she has touched over the years, but her spirit and soul will live on in everyone who knew her. Her legacy will continue forever as she made all of us a better version of ourselves.
Take solace in knowing that Heather is at peace as she lives out eternity in paradise with loved ones who have already passed and that she is waiting for the rest of us on earth to join her again for a sip of prosecco. In the words of one of her favorite artists, Kenny Chesney:
"But God, we were so alive,
"I was a kid on a carnival ride
"Holdin' my breath and 'til the moment
"When you were gonna leave me too soon
"But I'd do it all over
"'Cause, it was good knowing you"
