Robert F. "Bob" Grantz, 92, of North Apollo, passed away on Saturday, October 11, 2025 in Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.
Born May 19, 1933 in Leechburg, he was a son of the late Clarence H. Grantz & Dorothy (Thompson) Grantz.
Bob attended Leechburg High School and served our country with the United States Army. He worked as a millwright at U.S. Steel and later at Allegheny Ludlum in Vandergrift, retiring in 1996.
Bob enjoyed carpentry, leatherwork, metalworking, woodworking, and tinkering around the house. He could build or fix anything.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Caryl Joyce (Shellhammer) Grantz, who passed away on March 29, 2021; son, Timothy A. Grantz; brother, Clarence H. Grantz; and his sisters, Darlene Hartge and Charlene Anderson.
Bob is survived by his children, Daniel R. Grantz of Vandergrift, Michael P. (Tammy) Grantz of Washington Township, Robin L. (Jay Lookhart) Grantz of North Apollo; grandchildren, Mathew P. Grantz of Apollo, Meghan L. (Dario) Marsili of Upper Burrell, Vanessa M. (Dustin) Waldenville of Vandergrift, Lauryn, Ava, and Kyle Grantz, all of North Apollo; great-grandchildren, Maya, Athena, and Clara; sisters, Valjean Labanish of Greensburg, Sharyn Grantz of Ford City; as well and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Funeral services take place in the funeral home on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lee Rupert officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Spring Church.
