Elayne "Frances" Hunt, passed away peacefully after a short illness at the age of 76 on January 7, 2025. Elayne "Frances" was born on May 30, 1948, from the union of Alvin Wilder (deceased) and Mary "sista" Scott-Wilder (deceased). Preceding her in death also were her sisters, Shirley Aaron (Atlanta, GA) and Yvonne Louise McKinnie (Akron, OH). God has now graciously...graciously... opened up his arms so that Elayne "Francis" could again be with her mother, father, and sisters.
Elayne "Francis" lived in Akron her entire life. She attended and graduated from Central High School in Akron and served our heavenly father at United Baptist Church. She met and married Bernard Hunt Sr. of Akron, OH (Deceased), and God blessed them with three children: Bernard Hunt Jr., (Springfield, OH), Tamarah Lynn (Deceased), and Tamarah Hunt (Columbus, OH). She will always love them. Always. Elayne "Francis" also loved Akron, Ohio. She served the community, raising her kids, working at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and in the banking industry. But most of all, she loved her kids and grandkids.
She is survived by her handsome loving son Bernard Hunt Jr. (Springfield, OH) and beautiful loving daughter Tamarah Hunt (Columbus, OH), Dashawn Hunt (grandson), Aniya McReynolds (granddaughter), great-grand child, and nieces and nephews in Atlanta, California, Arizona, and Idaho. She will especially miss her cousin Reverend Larry Scott, and friends Theresa, Joyce, and the Barclay family.
Britt and Tamarah also want to thank the staff at Hickory Ridge Nursing Home for caring for their mother during her time of need. Per her wishes cremation will take place. Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, January 24, 2025 at the Adams Mason Funeral Home (791 East Market Street, Akron, Ohio 44305), where a memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM. Mom, grandma, auntie, friend, Elayne “Frances”: rest in peace! Arrangements entrusted to Adams Mason Funeral Home (330) 535-9186
