Elbert Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Troy B. Smith Professional Services on Jan. 18, 2024.
Elbert Lee Davis, Jr., born on February 17, 1961, in Oakdale, Louisiana, was a beacon of joy and laughter in the lives of all who knew him. The beloved eldest of six siblings, Elbert's early life was marked by a deep faith, having joined the Bible Way Holiness Church in his youth shortly after he and his family moved to Houston, TX.
Elbert attended Lamar High School and was a cornerstone of his family business, Big Tex Tire & Wheel. His entrepreneurial spirit later led him to establish Dave's Appliance on Cullen Blvd in Houston, TX, a business that served and uplifted the community for over 25 years. Elbert was more than just a businessman; he was a friend, a mentor, and a helping hand to many. His generosity knew no bounds, frequently donating to community causes and ensuring that no one left his store without their needs being met.
Elbert's heart was as big as his smile. He was a man of joy, always ready with a joke or a story to brighten someone's day. His laughter was infectious, and his presence was a source of comfort and happiness. He cherished his family deeply, a loving husband to Veronica, a guiding father to Elbert III and Preston, and a grandfather to Natalia, Logan, and Landon. His love for his grandchildren was immeasurable, and they, along with his parents, Mr. Elbert Lee Davis, Sr. & Ms. Victoria R. Davis, siblings Bertha, Amelia, Edward, Victoria, and Christopher, held a special place in his heart.
Elbert's passions extended beyond his work and family. An enthusiast of cooking, movies, and travel, he embraced life with vigor and an unquenchable zest. His departure on January 11, 2024, leaves a void that is deeply felt by his wife Veronica, children, grandchildren, parents Mr. Elbert Lee Davis, Sr. & Ms. Victoria R. Davis, siblings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and extended family members. Elbert's legacy of laughter, love, and generosity will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
