Elbert McClure, 83, of Marble, North Carolina, an employee of the Columbia Marble Company for 31 years until his retirement, died at a nursing home in Murphy, North Carolina, on Wednesday, January 17, 2001. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 18, 2001, 6-8 p.m., at Townson-Rose Chapel, 409 Kent Street, Andrews, North Carolina. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 19, 11 a.m., at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Harold Stiles. Burial will be at Valleytown Cemetery, Andrews. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are appreciated to Murphy Medical Center Nursing Home, 4130 U.S. Highway 64 East, Murphy, NC 28906.
