Mr. Elbert Earl "Mike" McClure, age 82, of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on June 14, 1939 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Emmett Francis and Martha Malinda Whetherly McClure. He grew up in Madison and attended school there. He enlisted in the United States Air Force on August 1, 1955 and rose to the rate of Airman Third Class. He completed air craft control and warning radar school (AC&W) at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Mississippi. He completed Personnel Specialist Training at Scott AFB in Illinois. He served in a top secret security clearance position at 5040th Alaskan Air Command, (AC&W) Headquarters, Elmendorf AFB Anchorage, Alaska and 626th AC&W Squadron, Fire Island Air Force Station, Alaska before being honorably discharged on April 8, 1958. He earned an Associate of Science Degree in Human Services from Ivy Tech Commuity College, a Bachelor of Science in Counseling in 1989 from Martin Center College, and a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Education in 1990 from Martin University, graduating Magna Cum Laude from both. He was first united in marriage to Sylvia Jean Lucas in 1958 in Madison, Indiana. He was later married to Audrea Helen Lamb. He worked in emergency medical services for more than 20 years; at I.U. Medical Center, Schaeffer Ambulance Co.as supervisor in Los Angeles, California, was an ER Tech at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana, and was Substance Abuse Assessment & Referral Management Specialist in the Marion County Prosecutor's Office in Indianapolis. He was coordinator of Adult Intensive Outpatient Services in Fairbanks Hospital, coordinator of Substance Abuse Services for the State of Indiana Dept. of Correction, and was an Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol & Drug Addiction professional. He was an International Examining Board Member, was an Internationally certified Criminal Justice Addictions professional, was an Internationally Certified Co-occurring Disorders professional diplomat, an Indiana Master Addiction counselor, certified HIV/AIDS Care coordinator, and Assessment & Referral Management Specialist, Level II. He was a Nadac Oral Examination Evaluator, a certified instructor for Prime For Life #IN13458, and for Opioid Treatment & Medication Assisted Treatment (IN). On June 11, 1994, Mike was united in marriage to Helen N. Buchanan in Indianapolis, Indiana. They had enjoyed 27 years of marriage together upon his death. Mike was a member of Hanover United Methodist Church, a member of Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Jefferson County since 1986, a member of the Jefferson County Animal Shelter, the Jefferson County Youth Shelter, "The Club" for Youth in Jefferson County, and a past member of the Jefferson County Indiana Drug Court. He was also a member of the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion and the Madison VFW Post No. 1969. Mike enjoyed mentoring young people. A highlight in his life was acting in the 1966 movie "Hombre" starring Paul Newman in Old Tucson, Arizona. He also did stand up comedy in 1964 in Hollywood, California, ballroom dancing for the Arthur Murray and Fred Astaire Studios, liked going horse back riding, avid swimmer, loved to dance with his wife, loved to travel and volunteering at the Salvation Army in downtown Madison. Please always remember Mike, "Always said you were his favorite". Mike died on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 1:25 p.m. at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY
Mike will be missed by his loving wife of 28 years, Helen N. Buchanan McClure of Madison, Indiana; his son, Brian Douglas McClure and his wife Stephanie of Indianapolis, Indiana; his grandsons, Joshua Michael and Nicholas Ryan McClure of Indianapolis, Indiana; his twin great granddaughters, Audrea McClure and Brooklyn McClure of Indianapolis, Indiana; his sister, Margaret Ruth Ayn Dixon and her husband, Bill of Bloomington, Indiana; his sister in law, Catherine McClure of Greenwood, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and other relatives; his extended family, The Johnson Family. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Francis McClure, died May 1, 1986, his mother, Martha Malinda Whetherly McClure, died July 1, 1989, his brother, Gordon Leon McClure, Sr. died October 12, 2010, and his sister, Judith Rae "Judy" McClure Begley Wakefield, died March 22, 2018.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., by Dave Adams, Jonathon Combs, Jeff Horvath and Pastor Luke Richards at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow later in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road in Madison, Indiana.

VISITATION
Friends may visit Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
MILITARY HONORS
A final salute with military honors will be conducted on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion and the United States Air Force Ceremonial Unit.
MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
Memorial contributions may be made to the Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Jefferson County. Cards are available at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centres of Madison and Hanover. Online condolences, remembrances and memorials can be left at www.morgan-nay.com
