Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 PM, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, LA for Elda Hebert, 92, of Lake Arthur, LA, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones. The family requests that visiting hours be held at the Matthews Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, La on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a rosary recited at 6:00 PM. Visiting will resume on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 8:00 AM until her services. Interment will immediately follow her mass at the St. Anthony Cemetery. Born and raised in Lake Arthur to Gustave LaComb and Philomene LaBouve LaComb, Elda lived a long and beautiful life devoted to her family. Elda is preceded in death by her husband, Annis John Hebert; beloved children, Roland Hebert Sr. and Geraldine "Geri" Knighten. She is survived by her children, Donald (Pam) Hebert Sr. of Morse, LA and Katherine "Kathy" (Harry) Duprie of Lake Arthur, LA; Stepchildren, Caroldine (LJ) Broussard, Diana (Daniel) Guidry; her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, who will carry on her legacy of love. Elda enjoyed simple pleasures that brought her the most joy, spending time with her family, enjoying meals out, and savoring her favorite treat, chocolate. She also cherished every opportunity to converse in Cajun French, a gift that connected her deeply to her heritage and community. Her nine decades of memories and stories will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Elda will be laid to rest with love and honor by her pallbearers; Greg Badeaux, Scott Brantley, Scottie Hanks, Brad Duprie, Tyler Theunissen, Gavin Hanks, and Mika Duprie, with Nash Duprie serving as honorary pallbearer. The family would like to extend special thanks to Elise, RN and Nneka with the Heart of Hospice for their care and compassion given to Elda.
