Visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA on Friday, October 10, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. until her service time. Reverend Jay Alexius will be officiating her services and she will be laid to her final resting place at the Andrus Cove Cemetery in Lake Arthur, LA.
She was born January 16, 1937, in Lake Arthur, Louisiana to the late Ellis and Dora (Trahan) LeBlanc. As a young girl, Dorothy and her family followed her father's occupation in the oil industry attending school in Lake Arthur, Hayes, Cameron and Lake Charles and was a 1955 alumnus of LaGrange High School.
She married her husband, Ferdie P. Wiltz, of 31 years on February 18, 1994. The couple enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and French dancing. You could usually find them cutting a rug at Kaisers or La Poussiere and while being active members of the Cajun French Music Association. Dorothy took great pride in her Cajun heritage and spoke her native language, Cajun French, as often as she could. She was an active member and parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church of Henderson and loved praying the rosary.
Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud of her success in raising her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for the nurturing she offered to them, her excellent cooking, and comical wit. She had an unwavering love for family and friends and was a giving, selfless, warm hearted, respected mother, wife, grandmother, and friend.
She is predeceased by her parents, her daughter, Tammy Melancon Gotte; her brothers, Richard LeBlanc, Danny LeBlanc, and Leroy LeBlanc; three sons in law, Glen Price, Sr., Barry Leger, and Glynn Lougon; and one great grandchild, Elizabeth Lougon.
She is survived by seven daughters, Rhonda Lougon of Gueydan, La, Matherine (Daniel) Landry of Moss Bluff, La, Gwen (Craig) Cortez of Bayou Boeuf, La, Chrystal (Jonathan) Breaux of Lake Arthur, LA, Arlene (Tommy) Angelle of Cecilia, LA, and Charlene (Kevin) Serrette of Katy, TX; her nineteen grandchildren, Sharee Perrin of Gueydan, LA, Brandy Povec of New Castle, OK, Mindy Potier of Gueydan, LA, Lacie Ordoyne of Bayou Bouef, LA, Glen Price, Jr. of Kaplan, LA, Craig Cortez, Jr. of Bayou Bouef, LA, Cory Melancon of Lake Charles, LA, Blake Lougon of Gulf Port, MS, Taylor Landry, Miya Breaux, Michaela Melancon, all of Lake Charles, LA, Auto Breaux of Lake Arthur, LA, Jamie Angelle of Lafayette, LA, Britney Angelle and Brent Angelle both of Cecilia, LA, Justin Serrette of Galveston, TX, Spencer Serrette of Katy, TX, Tara Johnson and Meggie Davenport of Liberty Lake, WA; thirty great- grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
