Eldon Charles Collier Jr. was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He passed away peacefully on January 14, 2025, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, at the age of 89. He was born to Eldon and Beatrice Collier on December 24, 1935 in Sandwich, Illinois. Eldon and his family moved to Michigan when he was a young child.
Eldon started his career as a barber and went on to apartment maintenance working for Owen and Laura Moore. There he met Sue whom he married in 1995.
Eldon was a devoted father to his two children, Chris and Doug and his legacy of love continues through his four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Eldon’s interests were golfing, NASCAR, fishing, The Green Bay Packers, walks along the river, spending time at Sandy Pines and being with his family.
As the oldest of six siblings his memory will continue to be honored by his surviving two brothers, wife, and extended family. Eldon was a man whose laughter and kindness touched the lives of many.
As we bid farewell to Eldon, we celebrate a life well lived, full of love, laughter, and the simple pleasures that make life worth living. Rest in peace, Eldon, knowing that your story was one of happiness and is truly cherished.
Memorial contributions can be made in Eldon’s honor and memory to Berrien County Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Allred Funeral Home in Berrien Springs, Michigan. A funeral service will be held at the Village SDA Church on January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM. A time of visitation for family and friends will take place one hour prior to the funeral service at the church. A burial at Rose Hill cemetery will follow after the service concludes.
