Eldon H Garlisch

Eldon H. Garlisch was born on Nov 08, 1946 in Lincoln, IL to Carl J. and Anna (Jacobs) Garlisch. He grew up on the family farm in Allens Grove Twp north of Mason City. He was baptized and confirmed at St Luke Lutheran Church. He served in the US Army stationed in Germany. Afterwards, he studied Agriculture at Iowa State University and returned to the family farm

He married Cheryl Grinstead on Jan 15, 1977 at St Luke Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death. They have two children, John & Mary, who survive. Also surviving are his siblings, Roger Garlisch, Janet Whiteman, Al (Brenda) Garlisch, and Karlene (Alan) Grelck, as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was a farmer. He served on the Mason County Board, Taloma Elevator Board, and numerous community organizations. He was an active member of St Luke Lutheran Church. He enjoyed antique tractors, steam trains, telling family stories, making ice cream, and his farm animals.

Services will be at St Luke Lutheran Church on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. with burial following in Allens Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m., at Hurley Funeral Home, iin Mason City. Rev. Matthew Berndt will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke Lutheran Church, or Good Shepherd Lutheran School, in Pekin.
