Eldon Howell Sr. Obituary
Funeral services celebrating the life of Eldon Wain Howell, Sr will be held August 1, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, Louisiana with Kennth Greer and Tim Greer officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Minden, Louisiana under the direction of Rose Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. prior to the service time.
Eldon was born on July 14, 1931, in Boliver, Tennessee and left this earthly life on July 23, 2025, in Bossier City, Louisiana. Eldon served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a faithful member and served as a deacon at Eastside Missionary Baptist Church for 51 years. He loved his Lord, family and church.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Jane “Janie” Jones and grandson, Shane Howell.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Mary Howell of Minden; sons, Eldon Wain Howell, Jr (Terri) of Minden, William S. Howell (Susan) of Homer, and James R. Howell (Patricia) of Ashdown, Arkansas; daughter, Janice Nelson (Russell) of Minden; sister, Inez Knutson (Obie) of Gulfport, Mississippi; 10 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Laurence, Mark McCaa, Hunter Bell, Chase Wimberly, Thomas Hammons, and Michael Hammons.
