Eldon "Brent" Mankin passed peacefully on Sunday July 21,2024 in Abilene, TX, surrounded by his loving family.
A celebration of Brent life will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday July 27, 2024, at the Pioneer Drive Baptist church, 701 S Pioneer Dr. Abilene, TX.
Brent was born in Abilene, TX on April 21, 1981, to his loving parents Weldon Mankin and Connie Rutherford. He attended Abilene High School and graduated in 1999 he later went on to attend Texas Tech University. He became the Vice President of his family-owned business, Mankin & Sons Gardens Inc. where he enjoyed working most of his life. He was a member of the Pioneer Drive Baptist Church he dedicated his life to God. Brent was your typical all-American guy he loved to go fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. He was a devoted father to his son Bryer, he had always wanted to be a dad and he went above and beyond to be the greatest father to his son.
Brent is survived by his son, Bryer Bryant Mankin; his dad, Weldon Mankin and mom Diana Mankin; his mom, Connie Meissner; his brothers, (B.J.) Weldon Bryant Mankin Jr., Micah Sean O'Neal; his sisters, Brandi Shaye Stafford, Kassie Ryan Boyd; his grandmothers, Lynda Tylene Rutherford, Brenda Joyce Johnston; his aunts; Pamela Laverne Rutherford McCloud; his uncle, Jo Eddie Mankin and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by step- father, Ronald Lee Meissner; grandfather, Clint Clark Rutherford; grandfather, Joe Thomas Mankin; grandmother, Betty Frances Mankin; grandfather, Harold Frank Johnston; great grandmother, Fanny Bivens; great grandma Olney.
In lieu of flowers the family would like donations to be given to your choice of Pioneer Drive Baptist Youth, Pioneer Place, or Steps Abilene.
