Also surviving are sons, Alan (Susie) Simerl, Seattle, WA and Jeffrey (Cathy) Simerl, Columbus; grandchildren, Gage, Cameron and Katie, and a sister, Nancy Wolford, FL.
Gene was a veteran of the United States Navy. He retired from the Mead Corporation after 37 years of service. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and working on cars.
In keeping with Gene's wishes, there will be no services. Burial of his cremains will take place in the St. Paul's Columbarium at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV). The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS and PALMER FUNERAL HOME is honored to serve the Simerl family.
