Eleanor E. Basel

Eleanor Basel of Gladwin, Michigan, passed away Monday, November 17,2025. She was born in Reese, Michigan, on January 5, 1938. Daughter of Otto & Hulda (Veitengruber) Roth. On September 27, 1958, she was married to Dale Basel of Rogers City. They lived in Bay City until moving to the Gladwin area in 1968. She was employed at Delta College TV Department from 1961-1968, and with her husband in catalog agencies from 1968-1985.
Eleanor enjoyed flower gardening, biking, classical music on public radio, feeding and enjoying birds, their many winters in Naples, Florida, and loved many kitty cats over the years. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the Gladwin Sage Golden Agers.
She is survived by her sister-in-law, Yvonne Roth, of Reese, and several nieces and nephews. she was preceded in death by her parents, husband Dale, and four brothers, Ottomer, Raymond, Norman, and Clarence Roth.
A memorial service will take place on Friday November 28, 2025 at 2pm at Our Savior Lutheran Church with Pastor Adam Flanick presiding with inurnment at Ridge Cemetery. Family will greet family and friends from 1 pm until time of services. Expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, are asked to consider Our Savior Lutheran Church or Gladwin Animal Shelter.
