Eleanor was born on July 19, 1943 to the late Stephen and Anna C. (Horvath) Bogar. After she graduated high school, she joined the US Army where she served as a medic in Vietnam. Ellie was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and a member of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish in Lebanon. She was a kind and spiritual person who loved helping others and volunteering to help at the nursing home. Her favorite hobbies included singing and doing arts and crafts.
Surviving is a daughter, Michelle Hartman (Joseph) of Lebanon, grandchildren, Caitlyn, Michael, Emily, and Nicholas, and a brother, Richard S. Bogar of Bethlehem. She was preceded in death by a sister Carol A. Stark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at 11AM at the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, 2 N. 8th Street, Lebanon, PA 17046. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, with military honors. There will be a viewing from 10AM until 11AM at the church.

Mom I loved you for the unique individual you were! My entire life you loved to sing! You would teach me all the silly little children songs! You had a tough life but I know you are at peace and with God leading the choir. I will always have your song in my heart Love you Michelle

Ellie was always very respectful of women by addressing them as ma'am.. She would always ring her bell at night just to have someone to talk to.. The Staff at the Lebanon VA. Will miss the times she sang and clapped her hands when she was happy.. The best memories are of Ellie singing "You are my Sunshine" We Love You and Miss You Ellie..
