Eleanor T. Bonte, age 91, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 at the Ozark Manor in Fredericktown, Missouri. She is the widow of John F. Bonte. The couple had resided in the Byron and Oregon, Illinois area for many years. Eleanor was born on August 11, 1931 in Long Branch, New Jersey. She is the last survivor of seven children of Howard and Marie (Maltby) Mount. Eleanor was employed many happy years in Rockford, Illinois as Executive Secretary to the President of the Mechanics Division of Borg Warner Corporation. She was an active member of the Elim Reformed Church of Kings, IL. She served as a member and officer of the Ladies Aid Society; she was also a volunteer of the Oregon Serenity Hospice and Home. Some of Eleanor’s favorite pastimes were reading, knitting, and writing poetry and short stories. Some of these short stories and poetry have been published. She was predeceased by her husbands Spencer J. Blanchard and John F. Bonte, also predeceased by her daughter Teresa K. Blanchard and son S. Craig Blanchard. Survivors include her daughter-in-law Joanne Blanchard of Fredericktown, Missouri, granddaughter Carrie Edwards, great granddaughters Jessica Camling and Rebecca Marchal, grandsons Mathew Webster and Mark Webster, special sister-in-law Leta Woolbright, and many nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at the Ebenezer Church Cemetery. Please make any memorial donation in memory of Eleanor to the charity of your choice.
