Evelyn Marie Bonte

Evelyn Marie Bonte (Pechacek), age 88, of Hammond, passed peacefully away on Sunday, February 16th at the Comforts of Home Lodge in River Falls, Wisconsin.
Evelyn was born June 17th, 1936 in Trimbelle, Wisconsin to Carl and Lenora (Teausaw) Pechacek. She graduated from Prescott High School. She married Ronald Bonte in 1956. Their marriage was blessed with five children. She worked on the farm in Hammond for many years. After that, she worked at Murphy Trucking as a secretary and North Central Life Insurance doing administrative work.
She had fond memories of growing up next to the Trimbelle River, or as she called it the "Crick". She loved fishing and taught her children how to fish. Evelyn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, puzzles, and attending plays and musicals. You would never see her without something in her hands that she was working on. She loved Elvis. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and socializing with her friends. She was a proud member of the Red Hats Club.
Evelyn is survived by her children: Brenda (Bob) Johnson of New Richmond, WI, Becky Draper of Spooner, WI, Shelley Bonte of Las Vegas, NV, Ronnie (Dine) Bonte of Florida, and Lisa Bonte of Hudson, WI; grandchildren: Jordan (Amanda) Johnson, Justin Johnson, Jonathan Bonte, Katelyn Bonte, Jake Bonte, Travis Schultz, Allie Schultz, Cassie (Emily) Bonte.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lenora Pechacek; brothers Gerald (Marie) Pechacek, Donald (Peggy) Pechacek, Carl "Squirt" Pechacek, and sister Dorothy (Marvin) Ottman.
We would like to thank the staff at Comforts of Home in River Falls and Olive Grove Hospice for the kindness and loving care they gave Evelyn.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 2nd at St. Mary's Immaculate Conception, Hammond, WI 11 AM when the ground has thawed so she can be buried next to her parents at the St. Martin's Cherma Cemetery in River Falls. Arrangements entrusted to O'Connell Funeral Home, Baldwin.
