Eleanor Lucille Dasher, 97, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 29, 2025 in Sebring, FL. Eleanor was born to Adolph and Mary Makowski on January 12, 1928, in Vandolah, Florida.

Eleanor attended school in Hardee County, graduating from Wauchula High School in 1946. One of her proudest accomplishments was being crowned Strawberry Queen in 1947. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and gardening and was very active in her weekly bridge club and bowling league until late in life. Eleanor was known for being an excellent cook and hosting family gatherings at the lake house.

Eleanor is preceded in death by her parents Adolph and Mary Makowski, husband Jack Dasher, daughter Nona Dasher, son Jon Dasher, sisters Genevieve Perin and Irene Byron, brothers Edwin Makowski, Edmund Makowski, and Louis Makowski. She is survived by her son Richard Dasher (Marie) of Zolfo Springs, grandchildren Sean Dasher of Lake Placid, Randy Dasher (Billy) of New York, Casey Dasher (Layne) of Winter Haven, Jordan Railsback (Jon) of Virginia, and Jessica Lamb of Washington, D.C. as well as five great grandchildren Jackson, Lilly, and Eli Dasher, and Penelope and Teddy Railsback. Eleanor was affectionately known as Nonie, Grandma, and Gigi.

The service will take place at Ponger-Kays-Grady Funeral Home 205 N 9th Ave Wauchula, FL on Saturday, September 6th at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Hardee County Education Foundation, P.O. Box 1678, Wauchula, Florida 33873, or to Feeding Tampa Bay, which serves Central Florida.
