Larry Freeman Dasher

November 18, 1949 – July 21, 2025

Larry Freeman Dasher, 75, of Valdosta, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 21, 2025. A lifelong resident of Valdosta, Larry was born on November 18, 1949, to the late Robert F. Dasher and Claudia Wisenbaker Dasher. He attended Lowndes County Schools and graduated from Lowndes High School in the late 1960’s. Larry worked diligently throughout his life, with family for many years at Georgia Florida Beauty Supply and with Valdosta Dry Cleaners for several years. He was a devoted member of Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ, where he found community and faith. Larry was devoted to his family and was a true people person with a gentle, giving spirit and a lifelong passion for automobiles of all descriptions.

He is survived by his loving siblings Cheryl (& Edward) Herring of Lake Park, GA, Katina (& B.C.) Starkson of Valdosta, and Talley (& Pam) Dasher of Valdosta. Larry also leaves behind cherished nephews Jacob (& Kassie) Dasher of Nashville, TN, Brent Dasher (Reagan) of Valdosta, Garrett Dasher of Valdosta, Tommy (& April) Herring of Valdosta, Robbie Herring of Lake Park, GA, and Ben Herring of Charleston, SC. His nieces, Cathy Herring of Lake Park, GA, and April Dasher of Valdosta, GA, along with numerous great nieces, nephews and cousins, will also remember him fondly. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Wayne Dasher.

A funeral service to honor Larry’s life will be held at 11 am on Thursday, July 24, 2025 in the chapel of Carson McLane Funeral Home. Mr. Doug Frazier and Mr. Ray Joyner will officiate. Burial will follow at Dasher Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit prior to the service from 10 am until service time on Thursday. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ.

Larry’s warm spirit, dedication to family, and faith will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
